Position Title:Industrial Technician
Department:Maintenance
Reports To:Master Industrial Technician
FLSA Status:Non-Exempt; Hourly
Job Summary: The Industrial Technician is responsible for assisting
in maintaining the equipment and facilities - both inside and out.
The Industrial Technician will be responsible for assisting with
themaintenance and repair of various mechanical, electrical, and
conveying processing systems/types of industrial machines and
supporting equipment. Will perform preventative and predictive
maintenance. Will perform periodic testing, inspections,
troubleshooting and repairs. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently,
and effectively. This position supports the daily achievement of
production goals through ensuring the proper functionality of our
machines and assets.
Essential Job Functions
- Under general supervision of the Master Industrial Technician,
repair and perform basic maintenance on industrial machinery (i.e.,
automation, mechanical, electrical, conveying systems, etc.) using
manufactures recommendations and company SOPs to ensure equipment
is performing safely and to required specifications.
- Identify root cause of basic mechanical and electrical issues
and performs essential repairs that may include welding,
fabricating parts, plumbing, or replacing defective components.
Works with appropriate personnel and management if further
attention is required to resolve the issue.
- Diagnose and conduct overall conveyor maintenance on schedule
as required.
- Check feed systems.
- Keep all fans working.
- Grease and replace bearings - check egg collectors and keep in
good working order.
- Fix manure systems - belt, scraper, and curtains.
- Keep baffles and winches working.
- Perform preventive maintenance on schedule for machines and
supporting equipment.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain basic electrical or
electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and
fixtures.
- Troubleshooting and replace or repair drive chains, gears,
belts, pullies, shafts, rollers, electric motors, and gear
boxes.
- Responsible for maintaining tools, keeping them clean and in
good working condition. Keep work area organized, clean and free to
move in.
- Works in a safe manner to protect themselves and
co-workers.
- Ensure the fair and ethical treatment of livestock and
livestock conditions.
- Identify unsafe conditions and corrects. Work with management
to resolve safety concerns.
- Follow all compliance, food safety, and biosecurity rules,
policies, and procedures. Reports any violations to a
supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Prefer additional trade or technical school education for
maintenance, mechanical, welding, HVAC, or electrical.
- Knowledge of electrical, electrical testing devices, pneumatic
and hydraulic systems
- Prefer 1+ years of experience in industrial, commercial, or
facility systems maintenance.
- Maintenance experience in the food, poultry or agriculture
industry not required but is a plus.
- Reading and comprehension skills necessary to read, understand
and follow SOP's and other written instructions or work
details.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with
co-workers and management.
- Sound work ethic, honesty, team oriented and moral
character.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced
environment.
- Experience with safety/equipment such as LOTO, harnesses,
lanyards, hoists, and PPE a plus.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as
required based on the production demand.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull 75+lbs.
- Expect walking, climbing (ladders and stairs), standing, and
sitting for long periods of time, and able to work in confined
spaces.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to walk, sit, move or stand 7-9 hours a day.
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to push/pull up to 75 lbs.
- Able to work in various climate conditions.
- Able to walk to and from buildings.
- Able to handle moving objects and perform repetitive
tasks.
- Able to use power tools, ladders and other equipment.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type:Full-Time (Monday - Friday alternating weekends as
needed)
Pay:$22.50 - $31.50 per hour
